A post process to recreate the visual style of Dawid Planeta's awesome illustrations

Parameters control depth of the effect, the amount of noise, and overall contrast. A Stencil buffer is used to drive the emissive elements.


  • The effect is driven by the depth buffer and blended with a noise generator that takes the distance-from-camera of each pixel as input, layered over a processed scene color to retain textural details from the scene
  • Two stencil buffers are used, one to define which meshes get the emissive effect, and another to darken/mask out meshes that shouldn't be effected by the noise
  • A paper texture, Vignette, and additional clouds are added on top to complete the look
